2010 Finals Day

| 08/02/2010 12:48 The league finishes on Wednesday the 19th of May according to the fixture list. Will finals day therefore be on either Saturday the 22nd or Sunday the 23rd of May? We need a date! Nobody never tells me nothing about fuck all ! |

| 08/02/2010 15:11 Modified by mixmaster on 08-Feb-2010 15:12 as far as i was made aware it is the 3rd weekend in may and its on the sat. reason its on the sat this year is usually its the sun before may day holiday meaning most guys are off work the mon and can have a swally!! but for some reason this year the fixtures run into may so its now the sat. just want to say congrats to the Doherty brothers, Both becoming dad's this week. Two sons that are sure to grow up into fine pool players & good golfers!!!  Experience tells you what to do; confidence allows you to do it. |

| (Deleted) | | 08/02/2010 20:21 One of the reasons for the big gap is to get the semi-finals and finals of 8-man and 5-man played before the last game of the season. This means that at least all players who are taking part at finals day will have a game on the Wednesday night before it, unlike years gone by when players who had no part in 8-man and 5-man finals didn't actually play a competative game for about 4 weeks before hand. Longer season also due to fact that all competitions being scheduled to be played on an allocated Wednesday night unlike last seasons where semi-finals and finals etc were left to be played on agreed nights over one week. Just tried it this season to see how it worked out. |

To me a wed night is just a chance to display your skills, it doesnt give you much practice. so I cant see it mnaking a difference to the outcome at finals day!! Im home for it so no real complaints I take it guys have complained about non-wed night pool?? tospotliar!!! |

If you were still in both cups at the semi final stage it left you with a lot of games to play over a couple of weeks. I seem to remember Legends had this problem. Eighty percent of success is showing up. |

| 21/04/2010 13:08 After tonight the next and last league game is in 4 weeks time! Surely we dont have to wait that long to manage to play 2 semis, 1 final (5 man) and 1 final of the cup. That 4 matches in total! During that time, a lot of men completely losing interest in pool (if not already!) Lets get these played asap, bring forward the last league game and finals day by at least 1 week (or 2)! It'll probably let the uni guys play and get the pool season finished now rather than stringing it out! |

Colins explanation was that it allows everyone to get match practice before Finals day....not just the guys that were involved in cups!! So alot of jiggery pokery & delay so that men could get one/two frame of pool match practice!! Incredible!! The standard at finals day wil probably be slightly lower as people dont generally play pool in May!! tospotliar!!! |
